Dimensions    
300 ft by 1.5 miles.

This is a military training area, and as such may only be flown after checking with the MOD Firing Ranges Information.
Normally available weekends, Bank holidays and all of August.
Do not handle anything that could be a shell or Ammunition

Rigging     
Plenty of open spaces.

Take Off
Excellent.

Top Landing
Excellent.

Bottom landing
Excellent, but be aware of rotor if landing behind the hill in front.

Hazards
This site must not be flown without ensuring that the ranges are inactive. Can be turbulent, and wave turbulence is common.

Local Flying
Good soaring along the extended ridge in the right conditions.

XC Flying
Good potential.

Directions

An agreement with the National Park prohibits access from Belstone Village. Use the road from the traffic lights in the middle of Okehampton. Up the hill past the Army camp. Fork left through the gate and across the moor brook. Continue along the tarmac road and park at a suitable point. Cars usually carry along to Grid SX605896 then carry up the track to the back of Oak Tor.

Parking
Do not park more than 15 meters from metalled road, or drive up the tracks.
